The gun carrying stuff might play well with his followers, but his conviction for giving a “false or fictitious report” could raise concerns about Simcox’s credibility.The minuteman honcho’s ex-wives have also called into question Simcox’s character. According to a 2005 article in the Southern Poverty Law Center’s magazine Intelligence Report, Simcox’s first ex-wife accused him of trying to sexually molest their 14-year-old daughter. (Reuters) - Former Oregon gubernatorial candidate Craig Berkman pleaded guilty on Tuesday to defrauding investors by persuading them he could use their money to buy shares of Facebook Inc before the company’s May 2012 initial public offering.
Berkman, a Republican who ran for governor in 1994, admitted he told investors he had access to scarce pre-IPO shares of Facebook as well as LinkedIn Corp, Groupon Inc and Zynga Inc.
…Berkman had long been active in Oregon politics and served for a time as the head of the state’s Republican Party. He lost in the Republican primary for governor in 1994. He explored a bid for governor in 2002, according to the newspaper The Oregonian.

Scott Bloch, the former head of the Office of Special Counsel under the George W. Bush administration, was sentenced today to serve 24 months of probation and spend a day in jail. Bloch pleaded guilty to the misdemeanor charge of destroying government property after hiring an outside computer company to delete files from several work computers, including his own.
…Bloch was appointed in 2004 by Bush to serve as head of the Office of Special Counsel, a federal agency that advocates for federal whistleblowers. Before he resigned in 2008, his tenure as special counsel was marred by allegations that he retaliated against whistleblowers in his office and discriminated against gay and lesbian federal employees.
…Bloch pleaded guilty to the contempt charge before U.S. District Magistrate Judge Deborah Robinson.

…The woman alleges that while in a hot tub with Zunker, his fiancé and another person, Zunker took the 15-year-old’s hand and placed it on himself in a sexual manner.
Later that evening, the complaint said, she was in her bedroom and Zunker came into her room.
“Paul asked her if she liked him, and Paul then began to touch her on the hip” and touch her sexually, the complaint said.
When investigators confronted Zunker about his activities last year, he told them he molested the minor “because it made him feel good.”
Zunker also said he “only touched the top of her vaginal area, over her clothing, and never between her legs.”
…Before his arrest, Zunker identified himself as “Christian, husband, Dad” on Twitter. It has since been deleted.

An Evangelical Christian pollster finds that atheists commit less crimes, divorce less, and are better educated than their fellow Christians. “It is obvious that you do not have to believe in a higher power in order to live a moral and successful life. Quite the opposite,” the Knoxville News‘ Al Westerfield writes of the study, adding that “the groups with the highest crime rate, the poorest marriages and the lowest education continually strive to force their beliefs on the nonreligious. And the politicians pander to them. Why else would they pass laws to put religion in the schools and on courthouse facades? And then they wonder why the godless could possibly be upset.”
“According to a Barna Research Group report, fundamentalist Christians have the highest divorce rate, followed by Jews and Baptists,” Westerfield writes:
The godless are tied with Catholics and Lutherans for the lowest divorce rate. It seems that some groups that claim to follow the Bible most strictly are not putting their money where their mouths are. The godless who are thought to be without morals seem to take their vows more seriously.

Aldridge and his parents face state indictments associated with the plunder of a relative’s estate administered by Aldridge’s father, Louis, while his sister-in-law was ill.
…Court documents show the Aldridges spent Florence’s money on casinos, cash, cars, vehicle repairs, clothing and numerous expensive trips.
After lengthy proceedings for Florence’s lawsuit against the Aldridges, Chancellor Michael Malski ordered Louis and Janice to repay $552,000 and his former charity, Touched By An Angel Ministries Inc., to pay $140,000 Louis funneled through it.
Later Malski also ordered Brian Aldridge, TBAAM’s chief executive officer, to repay his aunt $218,355 which came from the estate to the charity.
